Consequences of having a lot of data in NetSuite

My customer has a OneWorld account and has passed the initial data storage limit and is now paying for extra. Now were are wondering about the consequences of having a lot of data in NetSuite.

Might we suffer performance issues?

Should we archive old data out of NetSuite?

For example, we have 7.4GB of transactions records.

Has anyone else dealt with issues related to this?
