Tracking consumables within NetSuite

We'd like to start tracking inventory of consumables in our warehouse - things like cardboard boxes, screws, etc. that we use every day. 

These aren't "raw materials" per se and won't be formally used as part of an assembly, but we want to maintain visibility to what we've got on-hand and when it's time to re-order. 

Is there anything in NetSuite designed to handle this type of inventory?  Or any best practices?  Thanks!
