How to manage items that can be manufactured or purchased in NS?

Hi everyone,

We are struggling with this question since a long time...

We use to have one item code for purchased goods and one item code for manufactured goods for both the same finish goods. It is done that way to help people make the difference with our old ERP.

Now that we have NS, I'm pretty sure there is a better way to deal with that.

Another problem is if we type the items as assemblies, we have to know when the quote is turned as a sales order if it will be done in house or oversea...
Also how we track our costs and margins if we use one item?
