Credit Cards not processing for Sub Customers

When entering in a sub customer order, it shows the XXXX- credit card and it looks like it goes through but it never makes it to the credit card processing company.  Therefore, we have to re-enter in the cc information manually.  Is this a bug or is there some kind of workaround?  Are we doing this wrong altogether?
