Credit Card Processing API?

Greetings, as an interim step as we move to NetSuite, we're curious if there is a NetSuite API available for credit card processing? The scenario is that we'd interface with the customer on another system, and then make a web service call into NetSuite's credit card processing functionality. Is this possible?
