Advanced Inventory Management - afraid to turn it on

I am considering turning on Advanced Inventory Management -
but I am afraid to turn it on.

I don't want to immedately loose all of our current preferred stock levels and reorder points.  We also use multilocation inventory - which probably complicates things even further.

We have just started using multilocation - but have several years of sales data before we started multilocation.  So I'm trying to think if our data will help us - since we are now multilocation. 
We only use multilocation on about 10% of our items. 90% of our items still ship from our main location... where all the hisotry is...
