Invoice creation - client lookup very slow

We are having a problem with new invoices finding and loading the Client record after we setting the client field. Seems to be related to how complex the client is (old invoices, number of projects/sub projects). Some clients can take over a minute to complete loading, pinning the machine's CPU through out (reasonable machines w/ 1G ram and at least 1.8GHz processors).

We are new to Netsuite and just started creating invoices, so we have no history on how this process "normally" works.

Anyone else seeing this?
