NS moving very slow

NS has been moving EXTREMELY slow today.  Just to give you an idea, I typed a customer name in the search screen 58 seconds ago and it still searching.  This is happening to everyone in our company, 5 computers.  If we close out of the browser, reopen it, and then log back in it seems to work fine for about 30 mins and then we have to repeat.  Any ideas as to why this is happening?  Really annoying when you're on the phone with a customer.
