Sales Order Date/Time stamp inconsistency

We are having an issue here that we can't seem to figure out.
All of these time/date stamps are taken from the "System Notes" subtab of each record. Please step through this with me ...

[*](unknown time): A random visitor enters our website, shops, and adds an item into his cart.
[*]01/09/2007 12:40 am: Customer begins to complete checkout (and must register before hand). A customer record is created in Netsuite with the timestamp "01/09/2007 12:40 am" in system notes.
