Description line items

Hi all:

Since our upgrade to 2007.0 all of our description line items that are named "description" have suddenly become logged as inventory items instead of description items.  This is causing over 800 transactions that were previously closed to show as open, as well as causing us to get an error message that says "overage not allowed" whenever we try to bill a purchase order with a description line item.  Is anyone else having similar issues?  If so, any ideas how to fix it?
