Gift Certificate feature malfunctioning - HELP!

We had a very honest customer inform us that he is able to use his gift certificate code over and over again and the balance never goes down.  This is a serious problem!!
I did some checking of some other codes and I found 2 other occurances of this happening.  Who know's how many more are doing this!  Anyone else having this problem?  THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE!!
