CSV imports running amok-anyone else?

I just got blindsided again, so much for a relaxing weekend.  It seems that when we imported items, something went really screwy, as in, NS on crack.  Out of 1400 items imported, so far, more than 100 have item numbers that do not match what was imported. 

I am looking at the files that were imported, and they are golden.  They match the actual items perfectly.  The imports were successful, without errors, although the images threw a bunch of errors.  We just deleted them and imported the items without the images. 

We got them all in, and moved on to something else.....
