Case# 628339: Item Fulfillment External Id's not saving to record

I am having issues with saving external id's with the item fulfillment.  This is the same issues I was having with the sales orders as well as return authorizations a few months back.  It seems that the external id functionality introduced in the 2.5 web services endpoint is still quite buggy.

This has resulted in needing to do a workaround of using the search to find the item fulfillment which does work but took around 1 minute to execute whereas the get took 10 seconds.

EDIT: It seems to be some sort of server lag as both seem to be around the same speeds now.
