Related items on Shopping Cart Tab Disappear

Today was the day to make a few changes to the 5 items we display on the shopping cart tab as "Upsells".  They are merely 5 items we add to the related items tab in the shopping cart tab under List > Web Site> Tabs.

When low and behold they were all missing!  I thought this was strange, but instead of spending hours figuring out why or how it happened, I just setup 5 new items.

When I navigated to my shopping cart to check them out, I noticed one of the newer items needed a small tweak in its description.  So I edited the item and saved it.  Went back to the shopping bag and guess what???  Item was gone, again!
