Can't update matrix item

We're on version 2007.0.5.  We were supposed to have a maintenance update last night. 

Now I can't save edits to a non-inventory matrix item.  When I click the 'update matrix' button, I get the following error -

"Your session has timed out. Please re-enter your information and try again."

I was able to edit a regular inventory item.

Please advise.
