Incorrect sales description on sales documents

Can anyone at Netsuite advise if there is likley to be any solution to the following issue.

624537   Issue 120091: sales description for item is stuck on past purchase description

I first reported it March as:

535043 Issue 120091: unable to change 'description' field for a shipping item

There is no workaround to this and it is most annoying, particularly as it only effects some of our items and there is no way of knowing which
