Remove item from item sublist on opportunity form based on the status of the item

Hi,
  Could anyone can help me to remove an item from item sublist (in opportunity - transaction form) based on availablity status using suitescript.Also we are using a custom field in opportunity as joint buyer.If the opportuniy has a joint buyer then we need to prompt for atleast two contacts for that i have been trying to get the number of contact details associated with an opportunity using the code "nlapiGetLineItemCount('contact')" but i was getting the count as -1 though there is one contact.So please help me to solve these issues.
