ASCII characters are shifted by 1 on PDF printouts

edited Dec 3, 2019 3:10PM in General 5 comments

Hi,

I have been doing online research on this issue. While everybody is pointing each other, there is a chance that this is caused by the PDF generator module used by NetSuite.

When we print something (lets say Sales Orders) NetSuite generates a PDF that looks OK on the screen. When we print this PDF however, the text is garbled ('a' prints as 'b',  '0' prints as '1' etc. They are all shifted by one) After printer delivers this 50-page garbage we try to print again and it prints fine.

This issue has been around for years and some say it has something to do with character mapping in the PDF file and/or the embedded fonts. I have changed printers, printer drivers, browsers, computers, PDF readers but I could never solve this problem. The only thing I could not change was NetSuite's PDF generator (to be honest I didn't watch how often it was updated, all I know is the current version, and the compatibility level -> v4.0)

Howdy, Stranger!
