Allow Overage on Item Fulfillments & Limit to Committed

In our system we have Allow Overage on Item Fulfillments checked AND we have Fulfill Based on Committment set to "Limit to Committed".

If we have ITEM123 with 5 On hand and we create an Order for 8, then we fulfill the order, the system will create a Negative inventory of -3 even though only 5 were committed. 

Does anyone know of a way to prevent this Negative inventory situation from happening?
