Deleted roles still shows up as option

I have created a new user for the same email address and deleted an old one.
When the new user login, there is an option to choose which role to login as.
Obviously, I have deleted the old role but it is still giving the old role as an option but upon selection, I was given an error saying :

"Items you have requested in the record have been deleted since you retrieved the form".

How long does it take to refresh before the old role disappear or will it always be showing as an option?
