Weird Customer Email Reply

When an email is sent to a customer through NetSuite, sometimes when they reply, it goes to an email address like this:

messages.623420.185986.c12148213b@messages.netsuite.com 

Most of the time it does work, and goes to the email address of whoever sent the message.  Has anyone else had this problem or know what would be causing it?
