Inline editing weak and buggy unless you go slooooow

I just edited about 50 records by pressing:
[LIST=1]
[*]Down Arrow
[*]Down Arrow
[*]Enter[/LIST]The two down arrow keys selected a rep from a drop down and enter committed the selection and moved to the next one.  I was surprised (was I though?) that this didn't work.  Only the first few changes seemed to be saved.

Anyone else encounter this?
