Barcode label size

I have gone to Set up > Customization > Transaction Form PDF Layouts to edit the label.  I am having difficulty making the barcode smaller when I print out an item label.  About a month ago I was able to adjust the size of the barcode and now I'm not able to.  Am I doing something wrong?  Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.
