System Maintenance Period - Broken Templates

edited Dec 3, 2019 3:04PM in General

Since we were upgraded to 2009.1 this weekend, we have had several information items and categories that display the following error message:

System Maintenance Period

Our Web site is temporarily unavailable while we perform routine system maintenance. We are working on the site to improve its appearance and functionality.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Please visit us again later.

The common thread with these pages is that they all use the following tag to draw item prices:

<%=getAttribute("item", internalID, "salesPriceHTML")%>

Now I have found that when this tag is used to call the salesPriceHTML of an inactive item it causes this error. When we used this tag on inactive items in v2008.2 (or whatever our last version was) the system would return the message 'Out of Stock'. This allowed much easier maintenance of our templates. When an item was closed out and inactivated we didn't have to immediately remove it from template(s) it appeared on.

Howdy, Stranger!
