Problems with Spell Check of Rich Text Fields

Using IE8, I am unable to successfully spell check a rich text field.

Clicking on the Spell Check button, the spell check window appears, and identifies incorrectly spelled works. But the changes are NOT applied to the text in the Rich Text field.

Is there a bug in the Spell checker, or am I doing something wrong?
