Alerts Fail to Run on Mass Update

I created a saved search that sends out an alert when the sales rep on an account is changed.  It is sent to the new sales rep so they know an account has been given to them.  It works just fine when individual records are manually changed. The alert does not work when the change is made via mass update. 

Anyone else run in to this?  Is this an error?  Any recommendations?
