Save on "Record Exist with that Name" Error

Dear NS,

When we have just spent ten minutes creating a campaign, search, or report, and attempt to save it, if a record with that name already exists, why for the love of all that is holy, do you not just kinldy let us know and give us the opportunity to rename the record (as when a sales order is saved with a duplicate number) instead of forcing us to hit the back button and lose ALL of the work we just did?
