Use-ability issue for MLI no "register look on lists" when viewing inventory subtab

We have many locations and it doesn't seem that the "register look on lists" preference has any effect on the inventory subtab for item. It makes viewing a bit strained. Is there some other preference or maybe an ER to improve this? Thanks - a simple white / grey would do the trick like in the rest of the UI.
