Vendors in Employee Filter

I have a saved (time) search.  One of the filter fields is "Employee".  For some reason, some vendors are showing up as choices in the drop-down box.  The common denominator is that only vendors who are 1099 eligible are showing up.  Any ideas as to why this is happening?
