IE8 crashing when opening custom entry form

Only in IE, using IE8, I open a custom case form for editing and IE crashes

Seeing this a lot over the past couple of weeks and becoming increasingly annoying to say the least.

Anyone else noticing this behavior or know what could be causing it? It looks to be some sort of JAVA exception from what I can tell but have tried updating JAVA and other things. Only happens randomly but happening often

Also, on the sandbox. Have not noticed this behavior on the production.
