User loaded files to file cabinet disappear?

Anyone get this report from users? I'm sure everyone has at one time. Before I tell the user they did something wrong, I've checked the following:

- Did they post it to sandbox by mistake?
- Did they post it to the wrong folder?
- Did they give it a different name?

They claim they don't get an error message. I don't see anything that looks like their file. I've run several file searches looking for anything that looks like their file.

Any other tricks to look for missing files?
