HTML in saved search emails

I have a saved search that is scheduled to email every night. The search headers have line breaks (example: Records<br/> Updated) in order to make the columns narrower. However when the search is emailed the HTML tags show up and the search results which makes the email is tough to read. I have searched SuiteAnswers for a solution with little to no luck. I did see that an enhancement had been filed back in 2010 but this is still an issue.
