Cannot Select UPS Ground Shipping Method from SuiteScript

I am having trouble selecting any of our Shipping Methods that have a registered trademark symbol in the display name. I have a postSourcing script for the sales order form so that when a user enters a item number, the script will check a custom flag we have for that item to determine if it can only be shipped using UPS® Ground. Well everything works great until I try to set the shipping method to UPS® Ground. If I change the code to select a shipping method that does not have a registered trademark, it works great.
