Modify new matrix items creation scripting

How/Where can I alter code/process that creates a new matrix item?
When we build a new matrix item and select different options, we need the components to be added dependent on those options.

We can find our custom scripting, but we need to find the NetSuite created back end script so we can customize or add scripts to it.
