Executing Saved search from script throws "An unexpected error has occurred. Technical Support

For the past several days, a script that is running an existing saved search using nlapiSearchRecord is occasionally throwing a very unhelpful error: "An unexpected error has occurred. Technical Support has been alerted to this problem."

The script has been working successfully for months and has not been changed.  It works correctly on sandbox.  It doesn't happen every time, just seemingly at random throughout the day.

Has anyone else had this issue?  Has Technical Support really been alerted?
