Unable to download search results to Android tablet

We are on version 2018.1, trying to download search results to an Android tablet device. We have done this numerous times in the past, but today we receive a "download unsuccessful error " message.
I have enabled Mobile Device access on both the applicable roles and individuals, verified on the role, under Permissions tab > Lists, that the "Export Lists" permission is there.
Error message is consistent on  any Android or iOs device.
Has anyone encountered this error before, and would be willing to provide guidance on what we can do to resolve the isuue.
