Can i restrict *.txt file in CSV import

I have done customization as below,

1.User import CSV file in custom record
2.On importing data in custom record, I am creating vendor bill record.

but facing following issue,
I tried to import .txt file
its allowed me to import and in import job status showing 0(zero) record imported with result saying "An unexpected SuiteScript error has occurred"

If I restrict to import .txt, this issue will not occur.
Can I restrict this.?
Can I put validation through script.?
