Netsuite to discontinue XML

NetSuite's announcement to discontinue XML will be a major disruption to my business. ( Importing customers and sales orders).

Does anyone else use XML on a regular basis? Have you found the recommended alternatives usable? ( CSV Import or SuiteTalk?)

XML Imports was one of the nicest features in NetSuite.
I am really disappointed this functionality is disappearing.
