So how DO you set up overtime payroll items?
I see that there are earning codes for Overtime (Overtime Straight and Overtime Premium), and I see references to them in the May 1, 2008 Payroll Guide, but it's still far from clear to me how to actually set up overtime pay.
I created an earnings item that uses the Straight earning code, and entered some time for an employee using that earnings item. When I generated a payroll run, it seemed to treat it like any other earnings item, despite the references in the documentation to some other behavior:
"When hours are logged in the Overtime Straight pay code, those hours are automatically duplicated in this pay code, and then paid out at half the rate of the overtime straight hours."
