Customizing inventory report for Kits

Doe anyone know the correct field name to use in an inventory report for filtering on Kits?

I found - Item Type - Long Name
and set it equal to Kit/package

but it does not work.  When I run the report I get an error indicating:

No Data Available
  There is no data available for the date/period range selected.

which does not make sense for an inventory report.
