Customize Reconcile Bank Statement

Prospect and two clients strongly desire to customize Reconcile Bank Statement form so column widths can be adjusted and columns reordered.  Of special interest is moving Amount column from far right to left of center next to transaction number.

Why isn't this form customizable?  Will it be in the future?

Anyone found way to avoid having to press a ruler up to the screen to map amounts to date and check number?
