Scripting a customer payment

I asked about this a while back as we have two clients waiting for solutions in this area.  Yiggy replied that this would be in the 2007 release so I gave it another go today.

I can transform an invoice into a payment ok, but there is no "apply" lines on the transformed payment and when it is submitted the payment saves but it is not applied to anything.

Also, for one client, I need to apply one payment to multiple invoices.

Am I missing something, or is the application of payments not possible via scripting yet?
