Email Templates with Website Items

Hi,

Does anyone have knowledge or experience with getting website items into a Newsletter template? For example, sending a promotion on all the products in a category of the store.

Perhaps one could use a website tag <%=getAttribute('sitecategory','911','storepagehtml')%> which would pull the html code for the list layout of the site category 911?

Anyone have any input?
