Increasing the length of a built in field

Hello everyone,

I hope someone might have an idea on how to solve this issue, we already contacted support and they said that an enhancement request is already there for it, but I doubt it will be implemented any time soon.

Our problem is that we need to increase the length of both the StoreDisplayName and the Category Name (Am not sure what is the right name for this field).

Their current lengths are 99 and 80 characters, do you have any idea or a work around to increase those limits?
