payment editing

I've been able to edit a cash sale pretty nice. But now I'm working on a layaway system. I use the invoice and then take payments on it. The payment is a "Custom Payment Receipt Layout"

On the cash sale it had a button "Add custom element" but there is no button like this on the "Custom Payment Receipt Layout" I'd like to add some terms etc. verbage. Is there a way to do that still and how please.
