Booking time against a custom record

Hi all,

This is my first post here, so 'Hi' to everyone!
Also... I'm a graduate of software engineering, but self-taught in Netsuite, so please be kind if I say something dumb!

I've created a custom record, with custom fields and a custom form, and created a workflow which I've tested and is all hunky dorey.

This record type is for our internal change request documentation, and as such, we ideally need to be able to allow employees to book time against the record - for those involved with the deployment and verification of the change.

So the questions are :
