Custom Fields not available on Custom Record Mass Update

We have a custom record with about 20 fields on it.  Only 5 fields show up when tring to use a mass update.  The specific field I'm trying to update today is a free form text.  Of the 5 fields showing up 4 are check boxes.  Many of those not showing up are inline html, number, date and List/Record. 


Any ideas?
