Button on View Page

I have some SuiteScript that calls some external code to view some data.  I want to present a button to users on the "View" form but cant figure out how to get that button to show up.

If I use the Custom Action on the Form Editor, I see the button in Edit Mode but not View. However the code works there .

I tried using Workflow --> Add Button before record load and Entry but I dont see the button.  My plan there was to transition to a Workflow Action Script and try it that way.

Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
