Approve line items of RA in Edit mode

Any idea on how to accomplish this:
When a Customer RMA has multi line items with different identifiers or error reasons, with a "Is Approve" checkbox column added to each item line (and a custom "Approve All" button?), we want to be able to reject, close, cancel certain line items and approve other line items only.  Send an email to customer listing items approved, items rejected/closed/cancelled.
After this approval step, how do we receive those "approved" item lines of such RMA?
