Address field Validation

hi,

I need some help with a client script for validating an address.

I what I want to do is check that value of addr1 when the user leaves the field. I want to validate the contents, and perhaps update it if if fails my validation. 

I have been able to get a value from the field on record save or validate line but not on validate field.

Think this is because it is a subrecord form.  Has anyone else been able to do this?  Would you mind sharing how you did it?
